The Nikkei Cultural Society of Lethbridge and Area (NCS) was established in 2001 after the folding of the former Lethbridge and District Japanese Canadian Association (LDJCA). At the outset, it’s main purpose was to facilitate a history book project entitled, Nishiki: Nikkei Tapestry: a History of Southern Alberta Japanese Canadians. However, since then the NCS has become a central organization in all activities related to Japanese and Japanese Canadian arts, culture and history.
Committees
Executive Committee oversees all administrative and financial matters relating to NCS.
Education Committee
Communications Committee develops and implements effective communication plans in support of NCS’s objectives.
Event Planning Committee is responsible to advise on and to assist with the development
of regular programming and special events.
